Adam Castillo is the Founder and Owner of AGS Myanmar, the country’s premier security risk management firm. He is an expert in leadership in crisis, security and conflict, with more than twelve years of on-the-ground experience in Myanmar spanning civil war, sanctions, and humanitarian crises. Since March 2021, he has personally authored or edited more than 1,760 AGS Myanmar analytical reports, including five 100+ page year-end assessments, totaling roughly 8,300 pages and nearly three million words of original conflict and business analysis on Myanmar.
A former United States Marine Corps (USMC) commissioned officer and Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), Adam is also the founder and current chair of Republican Overseas Myanmar, an organization established in 2024 to promote America First policies in Myanmar and across the region. Since 2018, he has served on the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) Steering Committee for the U.S. Embassy in Rangoon.
From 2020 to 2025, Adam served on the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar (AMCHAM), including as Vice President (2021–2023) and President (2023–2025), guiding the organization through pandemic, coup, civil war, natural disaster, and international isolation.
He is the author of Finding Our Voice: A Story of Leadership in Crisis and the American Spirit Abroad, forthcoming in Spring 2026, which chronicles the survival of an American business community in Myanmar amid political collapse, sanctions, and war.
Adam received the Rising Star of the Year Award at the 2020 APAC Chamber of Commerce Awards (presented in 2021), was named one of White Page International’s 100 Inspirational Leaders of Asia in 2022 and was included in Asia One Media’s Top 40 Most Influential Young Leaders in Asia in 2023.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Riverside, and holds two graduate degrees from Norwich University: a Master of Arts in International Relations (Terrorism & Conflict) and a Master of Business Administration (2016). He has five cats, one being his lovely soulmate Simba otherwise known as the queen of AGS
